In 1987, that patent expired. Since then, manufacturers across the world have developed their own solid surface formulations - different resin blends, different mineral fill ratios, different manufacturing processes, all built on the same basic principle Corian® proved: a non-porous, seamless, repairable surface that outperforms laminate and undercuts natural stone on maintenance.
