Baustone® is a blend of natural mineral fill and high-grade acrylic resin, cast under controlled heat and pressure. The mineral content - predominantly aluminium trihydrate, the same fire-retardant, load-bearing mineral used across the solid surface industry - is what gives Baustone® its density and strength, well beyond what resin alone could achieve.
Each piece is cast as a single, seamless surface - no joins, no grout lines, nowhere for water or bacteria to sit. After casting, every basin and vanity top is cured, then hand-sanded through multiple grits to bring out a soft, consistent matte finish. It's a slower process than moulding and spraying a synthetic composite, but it's what gives Baustone® its weight and finish quality.
The result is non-porous, stain-resistant, and naturally hygienic - nothing to seal, nothing to reseal. Surface scratches, unlike on stone or ceramic, can be sanded out rather than lived with. It's a material built to be used, not just looked at.
