Your Serenity Stone™ Bath Mat comes with a 90 day warranty covering manufacturing defects. Please note this warranty does not cover accidental damage, breakage from misuse, or normal wear associated with fair use. To ensure longevity, always place the mat on a flat, stable surface and avoid dropping or striking the product.

At BAULANE, we stand behind the quality of our products. The Serenity Stone Bath Mat is covered by a limited warranty to give you peace of mind while protecting fair use.

Warranty Period

• Within 90 Days of Purchase: If your mat shows signs of cracks, warping, or manufacturing defects, you are eligible for a free replacement.
  

What is Covered

• Structural cracks or warping caused by a manufacturing defect.
• Defects in the supplied non-slip base or adhesive.
  

What is Not Covered

• Damage caused by drops, impacts, or misuse (e.g. standing on the mat with force, using as a step stool, or placing heavy objects on it).
• Surface marks or stains caused by any substance other than water. This includes (but is not limited to) soaps, shampoos, conditioners, bath oils, cosmetics, and cleaning products. These are considered normal use conditions and can be removed by lightly sanding the surface with the fine-grain sandpaper provided.
• Normal wear and tear (e.g. light scratches, edge marks, natural colour variations).
• Improper use outside of residential bathroom environments.
• Placement on uneven flooring or unstable surfaces.
  

Fair Usage Policy

This warranty applies only to products used in accordance with their intended purpose — as a bathroom floor mat placed on a flat, stable surface. BAULANE reserves the right to decline claims where damage is consistent with misuse, impact, or deliberate force.

How to Make a Claim

To submit a claim, please email support@baulane.com with your order number, proof of purchase, and clear photographs of the issue (showing the mat in situ). In some cases, we may request the return of the product for inspection. If the claim is approved, BAULANE will arrange a replacement or discounted replacement in line with the above terms.

No — it doesn’t feel cold. Customers consistently describe it as feeling like “stepping onto a dry, firm surface,” rather than cold stone. The mat instantly absorbs surface moisture, which removes the usual cold sensation associated with wet tiles.

No. Our Serenity Stone™ Bath Mats are not designed for continuously wet environments such as:

• Inside walk-in showers
  
• Wet rooms with constantly damp floors
  
• Commercial spa/ Airbnb bathrooms with heavy splash zones
  

If the mat sits on a floor that remains wet, it can become waterlogged and lose its absorbency permanently.

The most common reasons that would reduce water absorption include:

• Waterlogging (placed on a wet floor or inside a wet room)
  
• Insufficient airflow underneath (non-breathable surface or trapped water)
  
• Chemical exposure (bath oils, shampoos, cleaning products)
  
• Heavy, repeated splashing beyond the mat’s designed capacity
  
• Pores becoming filled after long-term use
  

If your mat simply has surface build-up, absorption can often be restored by lightly sanding the top with the included sandpaper.

Yes — in most cases.

Use the supplied fine-grit sandpaper to gently buff the surface in circular motions. This reopens the microscopic pores. If the mat was waterlogged (deep saturation), sanding will not fix it.

Small, cosmetic marks on the underside of the mat are fully normal and occur during the moulding process. They do not affect performance and do not classify as a defect.

We only replace items with defects on the top surface that affect function or aesthetic presentation.

The Serenity Stone™ Mat is designed to be durable in normal use. However, like ceramic or stone, dropping it on hard floors can cause chips or cracks.

We recommend handling with care — treat it as you would a ceramic homeware item.

Yes — products containing oils, dyes, fake tan, or strong chemicals can stain the surface or clog pores.

To prevent this:

• Avoid standing on the mat with products still on your skin
  
• Wipe away spills immediately
  
• Use only water and mild soap for cleaning
  
• Avoid bleach or abrasive cleaners

• Wipe with a barely-damp cloth
• Allow to air dry fully
• For deeper refresh, lightly sand the surface
• Avoid submerging in water
• Do not use chemical sprays, bleach, or bathroom cleaners

Yes — but only if used correctly. It must be placed outside the main splash zone and on a surface that dries between uses. For high-traffic spaces, we recommend allowing the mat to rest upright for several hours each day to maximise airflow through the pores.

Waterlogging is caused by misuse — typically when the mat is:

• Placed in a wet room or splash zone
  
• Left on a constantly wet floor
  
• Exposed to excessive soaking
  

In these cases, replacement is not covered under warranty.

If it's unused and in its original packaging, you may return it within 14 days (per our store policy). For hygiene reasons, we are unable to accept returns for used bath mats.
